NICE TO MEET YOU
Meet Melody
When Melody was 8 years old, she had an idea.
She loved reading and wondered:
"What if there was a place where kids could discover great books, make friends, and have fun reading together?"
On November 11, 2024, The Reading Club was born.
The following summer, at age 9, Melody turned her idea into reality. She created flyers, invited children to join, secured community space, and launched a free community Reading Club.
Today, at age 10, she's expanding that vision to help even more children fall in love with books.
Most recently, Melody's story captured the attention of entrepreneurs, business leaders, and families at TSP Live's Youth Initiative, where Lamar Tyler personally invited her to his studio to help amplify her vision.
THERE IS HOPE
Why The Reading Club?
Reading matters.
But getting children excited about reading can be hard.
Many parents feel like they're competing with:
- ๐ฑ Screens
- ๐ฎ Video Games
- ๐บ Endless Entertainment
The problem isn't that children can't read.
The problem is that many children don't enjoy reading.
The Reading Club exists to change that.
A Child-Led Reading Community
The Reading Club is not a literacy program.
It's a child-led reading community.
Most programs focus on reading skills.
The Reading Club focuses on helping children fall in love with reading.
When children enjoy reading:
- Confidence grows
- Habits develop
- Skills improve
- Books become something children choose instead of avoid
